An Influencer Doesn’t Have To Be Likable, Just Have The Right Energy

Let me drop this before the moon yawns to bed.
    .
    .

People think being a nice person makes you an “endorsable” influencer.

    I don’t think I’ve heard anything so ××× in a while.

Brands do not endorse g.o.o.d behaviour.

    Life is not secondary school.

    Brands endorse ENERGY.

Energy is either high or low, to.x.ic or pure.

And as far as brands go, these qualities are relative.

There are so many contro.versial people endorsed by big Brands.

The Kar.dashians sit pretty on this throne.

Two, in that family, are billionaires. The rest are swimming in money nice and homely people may ne.v.er see.

    Kuku’s hair endorsed Erica’s energy.

    Periwinkle estates endorsed Nengi’s energy.

Both women, as we all know, have very different energies… yet they are both bankable.

At the end of all this long talk and opinions on social media is… are you bankable?

    Period.

Every other thing is Sunday Mass, and not all of us go to church.

Brands that endorse Tacha nko? They are convinced that her ENERGY would get them the required patronage they desire.

Mercy Eke is also endorsed, yet she and Tacha have different energy.

So how can anyone be pushing for influencers to be likeable before they can be bankable?

    Oloun o!

This idea of calm, nice, conventional pe.op.le believing they are deserving of more is always interesting to watch.

Because they never get it. At least not as much they think they deserve.

I know what me and my cont.rover.sial a.s.s gathers on Facebook monthly.

I know the staggering amount I raised for a business on this page. If you hear it, you might f.ai.nt.

    Influence is personal.

    If you know, you know.

    Energy. Consistency. Authenticity…

These are the qualities Brands are looking for.

If you can back it up, then you are legit.

If I have to sell anything, I will not go looking for a ni.ce person.

I like energy. I like a lot of pepper. I like very hot afang soup.

    Lukewarm does nothing for me.

There are many Brands that align with our type of energy.

I can show you what my inbox looks like.

    Na dem dey rush us.

Just as there are many Brands aligning with calm and nice.

What I am trying to say is:

Speak from your own experience… but don’t make it sacrosanct because then it becomes a l.i.e.

My advice to upcoming influencers: Be YOU.

If you fake being calm just because you think there’s money at the end of that tunnel… you’d be so disappointed after a while.

    Life doesn’t work like that.

How many times I go tell una?

Your inauthenticity would cost you more.

You will get tired. You will get broke(r). And you will get co.nfus.ed.

Every morning, you would have to ask yourself: what fa.ke personality should I wear?

When you’ve worn other people’s costumes for a while, then what?

    Omo! Just be YOU.

Be open to improvement, of course, but ultimately be yourself.
    .

    Another thing…

This influencer business is quite a stretch.

There are more so-called influencers than there are businesses.

I actually think Facebookers romanticise endorsements and influencer power a little too much, especially since alot of it is beyond your reach.

This platform is not recognised to have that much power.

It doesn’t mean the app isn’t powerful, it means it is not structured to drive or influence beyond its walls.

It may seem like a disa.ppoint.ment, but this is the reason I choose Facebook everyday and twice on pay day.

I love how popular it makes me, yet I am unknown.

I like how recognised I am, yet largely unseen.

It is beautiful paradox and I won’t have it any other way.

Because, truly, I have cracked the business of my earning power on Facebook.

After all, I have 10,400 followers on Instagram, but all I do is post pictures of my fine dining with The Boyfriend, and pictures of my soft life.

If I really wanted to be seen… I have more than enough followers on IG to start with.

Twitter is a NO fvcking NO for me. Always has been, always will be.

To be exposed to people and the entire government and Jack like that… phew! That cannot be he.al.thy. Lol!

    I deviate…

Bottom line: Your authenticity. Your content. Your consistency. Your numbers matter.

And your ENERGY… these are the ingredients wey go cook that banga soup.
