I was in a bus yesterday heading to Aba from Port-harcourt when I suddenly recalled a joke I had seen some months ago and then burst out laughing.
Everyone turned to me.
Prior to my sudden laughter, the moving bus was very quiet, and so were the rest of the passengers. There was no radio playing in the background neither was I with a phone at the time, and that had heightened everyone’s suspicion.
(My friend, are you okay?)” The conductor asked me
“Oga i’m…” I tried to respond but more laughter poured out instead.
“Come conductor” The driver turned behind “Where you carry this man sef?”
“Garrison junction” The conductor snapped
“You don go carry m@d person be that o!” The driver fumed in Igbo
Now the persons sitting on my left and right sides had adjusted themselves in fear. I tried suppressing my laughter so I could clear the air on their various claims.
But I couldn’t hold the laughter for long until I burst into another round. This time I was shedding tears.
(This is not ordinary, this is the work of c0los)” The driver voiced before slamming the brakes. The bus screeched to a halt.
The conductor parted the door and ordered me to alight.
“Oga I’m alright” I spoke finally “I just remembered something funny, that’s all”
“You say you remember wetin?” The driver cut in with an angry tone “Bros you sure say you dey okay? talk now o”
“I said I’m fine” I maintained “Make una no fear”
The conductor hopped back in and shut the door.

“No bite person here o, I take God beg you!” The driver warned further and started the engine.
