    DIY Recipe: How To Bake Carrot Cake


    2 cups of all purpose flour

    1 cup of White sugar

    1/2 cup of brown sugar

    3/4 cup of vegetable oil

    2 cups finely grated carrot

    2 large eggs

    1/2 butter milk

    2 tsp baking powder

    1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda

    2 tsp of vanilla

    1 tsp ginger powder

    2 tsp cinnamon

    1/2 tsp nutmeg

    1/2 tsp salt

    1/2 cup raisins(optional)

    3/4 cup chopped walnut


    Preheat oven to 170 degree Celsius

    *In a large bowl, add oil, white and brown sugar. Beat until light.

    *Mix in the eggs one at a time. Add butter milk and vanilla, then mix well.

    *Sift in flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Then gently mix.

    *Add the grated carrots, walnuts and raisins. Gently mix.

    *Line two baking pans with parchment paper. Divide the batter(mixture) equally in 2 baking pans.

    *Bake in a preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until well baked. Note: Baking time depends on your oven.

    *Let the cake cool off completely before taking them out of the baking pan.
