I want to dedicate this update to our captain, William Troost-Ekong.
That guy is the stuff of what most leaders are made.
Temperament.
Comportment.
Even his mien shows a certain calmness in firmness.
Let us leave all the rock solid defence he has shown for the Eagles.
That one is already so evident it is boring.
My gut instincts tell me his character is actually beyond the world of football.
You see that yellow card he got by pulling that South African’s shirt?
Taking one for the team?
That shows very deep character.
It might not mean much because it was not a penalty that he caused and the keeper subsequently saved, but that was a last minute opportunity for South Africa and just one or two more passes and that ball may have been goal bound.
At this rate, Troost-Ekong may end up being the best captain ever to play for the Super Eagles.
Anytime I see him on the field, I subconsciously break into a smile.
