The appeal filed by Mr Peter Obi and the Labour Party challenging the election of President Bola Tinubu forced the Presidential Election Appeal Court to adjourn its 10- minute as a result of the poor schedule of documents being tendered to back up the claims of malpractices during the presidential election that took place on February 25.
During the proceedings on Thursday, the court found out that the documents had not been properly arranged as Court had directed them to be.
All attempts to clarify the anomaly and reschedule the documents failed because there was no quick fix for the mistakes.Counsel for Obi and the Labour Party, Chief Emeka Okpoko SAN, attempted to avert a crisis by attempting to conduct the proceedings using documents that had not been filed, but the plan was rejected due to its legality.
In conclusion, the court adjourned the petition hearing and instructed the legal team to re-file the schedule of documents by the guidelines in the pre- hearing report.
