Why Are Market Women Using Chemicals To Force Plantain To Ripe?

I don’t understand the wickedness and greed by market women today.

You’ll force plantain to ripe by using harsh chemicals …

You’ll also force fufu to ferment using harsh chemicals.

All in the bid to rush and make money, not knowing you’re endangering people’s lives in the process.

I have been here purging since last night after preparing fried plantain for dinner…

The other day it was fufu I bought, to swallow.

Tomorrow this same market person will come to complain of what government is doing.

Is this fair??

I have been purging nonstop and I look pale..

This is not funny at all..

I no dey buy again.

And when I recover, the woman wey sell me this thing go hear am.

There was a day I craved plantain and beans.

On getting to the vendor, I was happy he had very ripe ones because I already fantasied soft dodo and beans seeing its outlook.

Only for me to cut the plantain and realize it wasn’t ripe, more or less like an unripe plantain.

That was how my fantasy was spoiled for me that day.

I don’t want to talk about pineapple that was fresh when I bought it.

I put it in the fridge and same night it had become half rotten..

For a cold fridge.

They do it more with fruits.

You see pawpaw, avoid it.

The best bet is to buy unripe plantain and keep till it gets ripe.
