Yesterday, while I was in a Unisex salon in my estate, a group of pretty young girls, likely undergraduates, were excitedly discussing how they wouldn’t settle for less.
They chorused, “It’s either he is rich or nothing, and that’s on period,” which I found to be quite amusing.
I think Yahoo boys have messed up the dating pool, giving younger women the false impression that we have enough rich men to go around.
No we don’t.
The reality is that less than 3% of the total population of bachelors who are ready to settle down today is rich and comfortable.
The remaining 97% are managing, which is acceptable and still okay.
Our country is impoverished and poor, and many young men who aspire to achieve more in life often find themselves at a disadvantage, with the short end of the stick due to circumstances beyond their control caused by bad governance.
Our young girls, brainwashed by what they see on Instagram, need to hear this message.
There are not enough wealthy men to go around.
Single young men in their 30’s who make 1 million or more in income every month are sadly in minority, and so do not tell the full story of how poor we are and how dire things are.
So, my dear Ada
Lower your expectations.
I know it hurts, but please lower your expectations of landing a rich man or nothing.
The chances of doing that are less than 5%, if we are to be honest.
Br intentional about choosing a man who is kind, who fears God, and who is present.
A man who loves you and worships the ground you walk on.
Being rich or not is an additional bonus and secondary.
