For you to survive there, you have to Drink plenty of water: Drink at least one gallon (4 liters) of water per day to replace loss from sweat, and if you are going to get into more tedious work there, you need double of that to stay active
As hot as this place is, there are people who do live there in Death Valley!
Aside the tourists going there—seasonal visitors or retirees seeking solitude only in such an isolated place. There are also some live in that environment, some hardy souls who have made this desert oasis their home. More of these ones are dêpréssêd or mentälly unstable.
