Why You Need To Marry Well

10 years ago, Odinaka was selling tickets at a large market in Lagos.

He also sells weed by the side as his side hustle.

He was doing this as a means to keep body and soul together, hoping for a better tomorrow. You know the Nigerian resilient spirit that believes that “ee go better.”.

And then he met this beautiful lady, who has a shop in the market where he sells tickets to traders.

The lady Ada, who was the only child born to her parents, was managing her family’s business within the market.

The attraction was that they are both from Anambra State and the same local government in Anambra State, so he calls her my sister.

Before one could say Jackson Robinson, these two people who hail themselves as my brother and my sister have fallen in love and graduated to eating each other work in the night when they are done hustling for daily bread at the market.

Odinaka has extraordinary boundless energy because of the work he does, so his baby Ada always looks forward to their daily genital meet and greet.

Their relationship became intense, and things got so serious that they started planning marriage.

Ada, the only child of her parents, was in love with a street boy.

Since they were head in heels over each other, they got married 8 years ago, and Odinaka moved into his wife’s apartment at Amuwo Odofin since he was living in a face me, I face you in Ajengule Lagos.

And the wife also took him out of the street by dragging him to join the small family business she was managing.

The family business took a new shape as Odinaka brought his energy, street credibility, and dynamism into the business by transforming it overnight.

Instead of buying goods from importers in the market, Odinaka turned the business into an importation one as he started travelling abroad to buy from manufacturers in Turkey and Vietnam, and this transformed the small business overnight.

Life was good, and their love was a fairy tale. Nigerian love story.

The wife took in and gave birth to their first, second, and third child.

Just last year, the couple moved into their first property in Lagos , which they built in an upscale, expensive neighbourhood in Lagos, where a single plot of land costs 140 million.

Odinaka consistently reminds his friends that if it weren’t for his wife, he would still be selling tickets at the Trade Fair Market. Lagos

Every time I witness him driving by in his GLK 2020 Mercedes Benz, it serves as a reminder of the significance of marrying well and marrying correctly.

Who you marry can ultimately influence the final outcome of your life.

It can also influence how far you’ll go in life as a person.

This is the reason why marrying a partner solely because of her large Nyash and boobs, or because having sex with her is special and too sweet, is commendable but insufficient.

You know why.

Eventually, you would grow weary of the big Nyash, the big boobs would no longer arouse you, and in the later part of your marriage, your wife would switch to a younger sister who shares the same bedroom as you.

At that time, what would keep the union going is not the big Nyash, but rather the connection built over the years and then the beautiful friendship shared.

Marrying because he has a big Gbola is good, but it’s not enough.

When life’s storms and vicissitudes strike your marriage, the big Gbola will be the last thing on your mind.

At that point, you just want ease and to exist, and you would appreciate that you married a kind partner who is present.

So, my dear single people, marry well.

Open your eyes before you make the final decision about who you want to stay the rest of your life with.

Don’t listen to the go-and-marry crowd.

They want a wedding, but you need a marriage that works—a successful marriage that can push you to live a purposeful life and aspire to your highest potential.

This is important.
