That’s how 2go felt too comfortable with being the biggest social platform in Africa, failing to see that the purchase of Gocredits from mobile service providers before using the app features was breaking the pockets of their mostly young users. Mainly Nigerians – the biggest 2go users.
If you didn’t have the Gocredits then you couldn’t chat in 2go rooms or add new friends. And that sucked!
The owners forgot that what drew the youngies to the app in the first place was the fact that it was relatively cheap to use.
Before the app owners’ very eyes, students moved on to other social apps that weren’t limiting, and that marked the beginning of the downfall of 2go.
People’s interests are often influenced by a variety of factors, and if they can’t access their favorite thing, they may start to seek out other forms of entertainment.
Some people are using skits to hold body now because DStv sub renewal is a luxury.
So if MultiChoice thinks they can ride out the inflation of sub prices, we’ll see how far it gets.
Meanwhile, I never thought I’d see the day that BBN would be on and the majority of people won’t give two f*cks about it.
A show that once used to cause hair salons to be crowded.
You would see people running around with fuel jericans just to keep up with the shenanigans.
These days, the names of housemates don’t ring a bell.
Every show you know that faded into oblivion started from a gradual disconnection from its viewers over time.
BBN won’t be an exception.
