The Chinese-owned Star Times announced this morning that it will air the AFCON matches in Nigeria.
For this to happen, it means that Star Times has struck a licencing deal with New World TV, the CAF-anointed Whiz Kid that controls the football TV right in Africa, until 2025 after paying thousands of dollars to New World TV.
As of this morning, Star Times is the only TV station that has announced that they will air the AFCON matches in Nigeria.
I pray and hope that DSTV will be humble enough to drop their shoulder and then negotiate with New World TV for access and subleasing permission to show the match. Nigeria and then pay the necessary fees to the owner of AFCON TV.
Just like Star Times has done
This is the least debt that they owe their paying customers.
