Mark will be launching a new app. According to him, it’s a text based extension for Instagram and it’s called – Threads.
As usual,
It’s just another twitter clone, leveraging on the 2 billion users existing on Facebook and Instagram and Mark is hoping to use the multitude of users he has gathered on his app to oppress and suppress twitter.
Just like he used Instagram reels to take up arms against TikTok.
From his own angle?
It’s a good idea for Facebook. Facebook and IG are already getting choked up with ads. I’ve been expecting this move from Mark for a while. There is a serious demand for more ads slots, it’s driving up the price of ads , affecting businesses, creating some cutthroat competition that will soon backfire.
So it makes sense to increase the surface area Meta has to show ads and make more money. Another app will do it, since Metaverse failed.
From the user angle,
well, the world has been due for another big social network since. I mean a real social network, not a video streaming app.
A new app will create a different generation of social media users. Some members of GenZ and Gen Alpha will find their home on it.
This will be another opportunity for Mark Zuckerberg to cure his boredom, get his hands busy and continue is psyche experiments.
It will also give him a serious “feel good” after the mess up of Metaverse.
The downside of this and it’s been giving me headaches is that, there’s a social network platform built by Nigerians here.
I’ve been monitoring their progress. I’ve been privy to see their progress and use the platform and they are doing a great job.
But… But… The timing has clashed with Oga Mark’s own. Mark is about to create a very serious rush for gold that will push other smaller apps to the mud.
I have learned through years of observation that in this special network matter?? Understanding the times and seasons is important.
