A 16 years old boy, name withheld purposely hid in a bank toilet overnight and stole N340,000 was arrested and brought before an igbosere magistrate’s court in Lagos yesterday.
The yet-to-be- identified teenager of Abimbola street, Even estate Ajah, Lagos was arrested by the Ajah Police Division, Lagos and was charged of stealing.
The prosecuting Inspector, Peace Chukwudi told the court in a charge marked C/09/2020 that the defaulter committed the offence on 19th February. She said that the accused was caught by security officials in the banking hall of a branch of First City Monument Bank(FCMB).
The inspector said upon interrogation, the boy confessed that he entered the bank before 4pm, during closing time rush hour. He then went to the toilet and hid till everyone left for the day.
The court heard that the boy ransacked the worker’s safe at about 2:30am and found the sum of N340,000 and hid it in his clothes.
