Data scraping is expensive. Twitter has an API to access data but lots of companies and startups choose to scrape and get that data illegally. Costing twitter so much.
That’s why there is the need to put a hold on how much content users access, to force the data scrapers to use the api while figuring out how to stop them from coming back to scraping it illegally.
During the days of Jack Dorsey, this would fly because anyhowness was allowed. Twitter has never made a dime in profit since it was created in 2008 abi 2009.
They’ve changed CEO like pant. Yet, nothing. The one time they made small profit as a whole was when they were running Vine app.
From day one twitter has always had very unsteady revenue streaks. Up for two months. Down for eight months.
Now it’s privately owned, the first step is to cut down costs and seal every leakage.

Twitter is originally worth about $15 billion.
Elon bought it at about 3x the price, because the stakeholders put pressure and practically forced him. They really needed to cashout and handover the headache to someone else. They took advantage of his arrogance.
Twitter is a place to cruise and see crazy things and that’s the why app can’t make any money. Too much cruise dey there and it’s just difficult to make anything reasonable out of all the cruise for advertisers to use.

I hear people talk about how twitter might be the first time he fails and I laugh. It’s the same thing people said with Tesla. You just didn’t know because you don’t know much about EV and the battles he fought and lost to break even in that industry.
Same thing people said with Space X. He was called out for working with Russian cosmonauts and space engineers.
Till now he’s still losing and failing forwards in SpaceX.

Twitter financials have been bad since day one.
The value of twitter is put at about $14bn… Elon Musk was pressured into buying it at 3x the price. Now it’s no longer public, it’s undergoing serious price correction.
Twitter has never turned out any reasonable profit since it was founded. Never ever.
Twitter had only burned and burned investors money since day one.
Elon Musk has done a lot to cut down cost. But the truth is that people who built twitter, built it and somehow forgot it was suppose to make money. By the time they realized it it was too late
Twitter had gathered so much unstructured content it became difficult for advertisers to do anything with it.
It will take a lot of time, tinkering , trial and errors to overturn it.
That’s why the former investors and stakeholders at twitter are quiet and watching. They can’t talk because, they themselves were cluless all the time they owned twitter.
Jack Dorsey can’t talk or criticize Elon. Because he himself no Sabi anything.
