Throughout last year, I used Dhiwise to do a lot of direct conversions from Figma to code.
Saved me a lot of time and energy and aided my multitasking. But Dhiwise dun cost. Per year, they are charging about $250 and about $3-$5 per screen.
So I found other alternatives.
1. Figma’s design to code tool has undergone a whole lot of improvement o. Especially for Flutter and web languages. It can now generate unit code for widgets and even screens.
I had to go back to it this week and I’m really impressed.
2. Don’t sleep on that feature that allows you to upload media files to ChatGPT . What I have learned to do is to take screenshots of the design or widget I want to implement, upload the image and ask ChatGPT to write the code for it.
It’s not always 100% spot on, but it tries and that effort saves a lot of time.
Remember, behind the scene, Dhiwise and Locofy use GPT visual to code LLM to create codebases.
Just that in this case, you go need to run am manually.
I’m seriously considering taking up a personal project to build out my own Dhiwise to convert Figma screens to code, the market is there and we need much cheaper options. I’m looking into it and I will see how it goes.
