Beyounce Giselle Knowles was born on September 4, 1981 in Houston. She started singing at an early age, competing in local talent shows and winning many of these events by impressing audiences with her singing and dancing abilities.
She attended St. Mary’s Elementary School, Parker Elementary School and High School for the performing and Visual Arts.
Beyonce first caught public attention in the 1990s as a member of the R&B group Destiny’s Child for which she wrote songs and acted as lead singer. On the musical front, Knowles took center stage as a solo artist, releasing her first album, Dangerously in Love in 2003. The recording became a huge success for her both commercially and critically. It sold millions of copies and won five Grammy Awards.

She’s the most awarded and most nominated artist in Grammy history. With 27 awards, Beyonce is the third-most awarded artist at the Billboard Music Awards.
In 2008, Knowles married rapper and music mogul Jay Z in a small, private ceremony in New York City. Following years of pregnancy rumors, Knowles and Jay Z welcomed a baby girl, Blue Ivy Carter in 2012. In February 2017, Knowles announced that She and Jay Z were expecting twins.
Given the stellar year, the 42 year old entertainer has had, money doesn’t appear to be a problem. She is now on a glidepath to becoming a billionaire with a net worth of $800 million.
