Popular music streaming platform, Spotify, has named Ayra Starr and Tems as the most streamed Nigerian artists for the first half of 2024.
This information was released as part of Sportify’s top 30 track list for Nigeria during this period.
Ayra Starr’s success was particularly notable. Her collaboration with Rauw Alejandro on the song ‘Santa’ While her solo track ‘Commas’ secured the second position. Tems closely followed with her song “Love me jeje” Taking the third spot.
The fourth most streamed track was ‘Another vibe’ Luciano and Omah Lay, followed by Burna Boy and savage’s ‘Metro Booming Just Like Me’ in fifth place. Tyla and Tems No. 1 ranked sixth on the list.
Phiona Okumu, Sportify’s Head of Music for Sub-Sahara Africa, provided more context during a press conference in Lagos. She explained:
“The list recognised Nigerian most listened to tracks from outside the country between January 1 and June 30, 2024”
