A Fall From Grace By Tyler Perry – A Review

A Fall From Grace by Tyler Perry.
.
Tyler Perry’s latest movie on Netflix has a story.
In the hands of a brilliant empath, the romance between Grace (older woman) and Shannon (artist) would have been told with care, like silk and roses.
In the hands of a sick but brilliant director (probably Woody Allen), it would have uncovered interesting depths that would fill our screen with suspense.
But in the hands of Tyler Perry, the story was rushed. Nothing was fully developed. Everything was easy to piece together, and the stereotype lives on.
I think while everyone is sick of the longsuffering black woman in Tyler’s movies…
Y’all should be offended, also, by the portrayal of the antagonist and destroyer of black women he always portrays – the handsome black male.
Sigh.
I think I find the black man in his movies more disturbing.
But that’s a story for another day.
.
I like the premise of this movie, actually.
I have seen what real Hollywood directors can do with regular stories.
The Great Gasby, for instance… what is the story really about?
A wealthy man in love with a woman he couldn’t have. He suffers for his affection, dies, and life goes on.
It’s really a simple synopsis, but the magic of that simple story in the hands of real filmmakers is what makes for great entertainment – credited to the brilliance of a director and cinematographer.
A Fall From Grace has potentials, but Tyler is a carpenter from Aba.
Just knack the nail inside wood, carry am go shop. Makate must sell.
That’s my review.
