Christina Applegate, an actress known from the cult series, The World According to the Bundes, has shared her experience of struggling with multiple sclerosis in an honest conversation.
The ailment forced her to quit her career and made everyday life very difficult. Applegate makes no secret of the fact that the disease has plunged her into depression. She feels “trapped in the dark”.
In the latest episode of her podcast, MeSsy, the actress admitted that she felt sore and tired, struggling with simple everyday activities that she once performed automatically.
” I am now trapped in a darkness that I haven’t felt in probably 20 something years. I don’t enjoy life anymore. I don’t enjoy anything”- Christina revealed
Despite this, the actress decided to contact a therapist and arrange a meeting, which she described as her small success. Applegate admitted that she had been afraid of therapy since her diagnosis for fear of her reaction and uncontrollable crying.

Applegate, who played Kelly Bundy in the series, The World According to the Bundy’s from 1987 to 1997 gained popularity, thanks to the role. She also appeared in the series It’s Her Whole World and Who’s Samantha?, for which she received two nominations for a Golden Globe and an Emmy.
In 2008, the actress was diagnosed with breast cancer. This prompted her to actively fight cancer. She established the Right Action for Women organization, while educates about the dangers of breast cancer and the necessary prevention.
The diagnosis of multiple sclerosis was made in 2021, but Applegate believes she had the disease for many years before that. In an interview with Good Morning America, she admitted that she “feels like she’s living in hell and that not being able to move freely is mentally difficult for her”.
