Terrorist group, Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the abduction of over 300 students from Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, in Katsina State.
It was reported that the gunmen stormed the boarding school on foot during the day time, collected student belongings, and led a large number of them into the bush.
Efforts by security agencies to secure the release of the boys have been ongoing since their capture with the Nigerian military stating that it has surrounded the unknown gunmen who kidnapped the students.
However, in a new development, the insurgent group came out claim responsibility for the act on Tuesday.
“I am Abubakar Shekau and our brothers are behind the kidnapping in Katsina,” said the leader of the group behind the 2014 abduction of hundreds of schoolgirls in Chibok.
