A lot of people will not eat chicken this Christmas. Even rice. I think it’s better to be alive with hope than to look for palliatives and die.
But these totally and completely avoidable deaths show how hungry people are in Nigeria. From South to East to West, deaths are being recorded.
May the soul of the departed rest in peace.

I cannot in all conscience pay that ridiculous amount for a tiny piece of meat. My sense of justice is offended, her arrogance offends me.
How’s Christmas eve in your area? In Orozo, a small village beside Asokoro where I am blessed to live, everything is fine. Men, women , children are in the market. People brought everything to sell, including used cooking pots and clothes. Just in case someone bought Chicken and didn’t have pots to cook.
Chicken and Turkey are dying in droves. A mid size Turkey is N90,000 jale while small ones are N50k. Chicken still sell for N13-18k for fairly big ones.
The boys killing them charge N2k for Turkey and N1k for chicken.
It’s a complete rip-off on the birthday of Jesus.
But some people can bargain Sha, one man came and started pricing old layers N5k . Ah dear God sir, I wanted to say but I saw he had a camo cap, he must be a sergeant or staff sergeant. I quickly kept quiet.
If you bought those small Turkeys, you just wasted your money. Better to buy those big broilers. One woman bought two turkeys, after they were skinned , she was close to tears.
” Cheer up Madam,” I said cheerfully. “Turkey tastes better than chicken.” The woman cannot be consoled.
It won’t be a too Merry Christmas for her and her children. 😂
I’m getting ripped off too. Nobody would give me my change. Even my friend, Chairman of the Chicken sellers in Orozo and Karshi man of means, he has seized my money. I have to do Christmas for him too.
