Pro-Trump rioters have breached the U.S. House and Senate chambers of the Capitol, forcing lawmakers to evacuate the building and halt certification of the 2020 presidential election.
At least one person was reportedly shot, while police engaged in an armed standoff with rioters, some of whom shattered windows to get inside the building, which has since been locked down.
The Pentagon is now deploying all 1,100 members of the National Guard, say defense officials.
