My wife isn’t happy.
Not just her, the whole internet users and lovers of the Big brother Naija show.
Something happened yesterday night!
When I returned, I was shocked to see her seeing a different program instead of the usual big brother naija show, on stumbling on a post that Uriel had been evicted from the show, I the. knew where the anomaly was from.
The show employs what they call “Jury” to evict housemates from the show.
The Big brother Jury chose to evict Uriel instead of Seyi, despite Uriel being more active in the show and even had higher votes than Seyi.
Many complainants said two out of the three Jury Teddy A & Laycon had played a tribal card to chose to save Seyi because he is Yoruba.
I could feel the pain and displeasure in the hearts of many, as people stormed under Teddy A, Laycon, Big brother social handles to vent their concerns, calling them out for bigotry, someone even said “Laycon, na only you go listen your upcoming album”.
Last week, Princess was evicted over Seyi in same Jury’s choice despite Seyi having lesser votes, I began to wonder and then I asked some questions;
1. What’s now the essence of voting when a Jury can just come and Evict someone because of personal beef they have with them. Imagine Whitemoney or Mercy being up, the Jury will likely evict them, in name of they had once won or for some personal rift within them.
2. Do these Jury watch this show at all? People that are busy chasing ambassadorial deals and running from one tailor to another, when do they even get time to watch the show?
3. Big brother Naija all stars with some housemates whom viewers don’t even regard as stars and with Jury that doesn’t even worth to be one in the first place, isn’t this an impending doom to the entire thing?
I might be wrong because I don’t really follow 247, but I feel this Jury stuff should be scrapped if they don’t want same rage that happened when Tacha was evicted.
I know it’s their show, their choice, but the viewers that gives them the money and relevance deserves to be happy.
