John Ikechukwu Okafọ popularly known as Mr. Ibu is a comic actor.
He was born in 1961 and hails from Ụmụnekwu Eziokwe Amuri in Nkanụ West L.G. A, Enugwu State.
He lost his father after his primary school education. To continue secondary school was difficult due to finance. In 1974, he moved to Sapele to live with his brother.
In Sapele, John Okafọ did all kinds of menial jobs just to sponsor himself to school and also to support his family.
He was a photographer, and hairstylist, carrying mgbuka, working in a company where they produce crates.
When he finished Secondary School, John Okafọ got admission to study at the College of Education Yola. He dropped out, due to money.
He worked very hard and was determined to go to school. He made some money later and took himself to the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu (IMT).
Acting was in him since Primary school. People would see him and laugh.
He joined Nollywood and was known as Mr. Ibu. His role is that of a person disconnected from reality. He has featured in more than 200 movies some of which include:
