I’m Urging President Tinubu To Place A Special Watch On Abia State Government- Uzoma Okoro

The election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 8th Abia State House of Assembly has been denounced by Honorable Promise Uzoma Okoro, a PDP chieftain in Abia State. In an interview with the press in Umuahia, the Honorable Uzoma said that Governor Dr Alex Otti had infringed on the legislative branch’s freedom.

He said that the other contenders were not permitted to run in the election. He also tasked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with closely monitoring the state governor’s operations. He considered today’s events in Abia State to be a violation of democracy.

First, the Governor neglected to publish a proclamation for the House’s inauguration on June 10 and instead brought a letter with him this morning that was covertly dated June 13, 2023. To put it mildly, the activities that took place while he was present are undemocratic and dishonourable, am requesting that President Bola Ahmed Tinbu keep a close eye on the operations of the current Abia State government. Let the government remember that we live in a democracy, not an autocrat and that the rule of law must always take precedence.
