Barcelona manager Xavi has shared his thoughts on Manchester United’s potential takeover by Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani.
Reuters reports that Manchester United and Sheikh Jassim are currently negotiating exclusivity in the latter’s attempts to acquire the Manchester-based outfit.
If things work out as planned and the takeover is completed, the Glazer family will walk away with over $6 billion.
Reacting to the reports, Xavi spoke about Sheikh Jassim, the son of Qatar’s former prime minister, showering praise on him.
“I have a good relationship with the person interested in buying the club [#mufc], he’s a serious person, and I’m sure he’d do a good job.
“I know him so well. He’s a very good person with responsibility. It would be a very good option for United,” Xavi said, according to Centre Devils.
The former Barcelona midfielder knows Sheikh Jassim from the former’s time in Qatar for around six years.
