Tony Elumelu’s first child and his successor is 21 today.
What it means is that Tony, who just turned 60 a few days ago, gave birth to her at 39.
Tony’s twin boys, which he calls “T boys,” are eight, meaning they were born when he was 52.
If it is to be judged by Facebook standards, Tony gave birth to her very late , but he did not.
He married when he was emotionally and psychologically ready, and most importantly, when he had seen his soul mate, Dr. Awele
Then waited for 6 years, when it was time for Oge to come.
There is no timeline, standard, or formula when it comes to life.
If you are lucky enough to get married in your 20s, by all means, enjoy your journey.
If it happens to you in your 30s, you are not late or early; it is just the time destined for you by the universe.
Likewise, if you make your first million in your 20s, you are not smarter than your agemates, who are still struggling; you are just lucky.
The same as when you make your first 1 billion naira in your 30’s, chances are that 80% of the people in your age group will not make their first 1 billion in their 30’s or probably will not see or own 1 billion of their own till they die.
Life is a function of time and chance.
Luck is real, and it influences the final outcome of every man.
Pentecostals call it breakthrough or favor.
While some call it luck.
Whatever name you give it, the final outcome of our lives is not in our hands.
Ours is to dream and aspire; it is now left for the universe to align with our desire.
Obi Cubana did not plan that he will blow when he was planing his mothers burial but he became an instant celebrity just because he gave his mum, a befitting burial.
I have seen people work hard, do their best, and have a good heart, yet nothing is working for them.
I have seen decent young people who kept themselves chaste and pure by not defiling themselves by having sex, hoping to do it on their wedding night, but they are still single at 40.
Ecclesiastes 9:11 summarize my thoughts by saying:
“The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all”
If God has shown you favor, don’t call others lazy or unserious.
But most importantly, enjoy any stage you are at the moment.
