I see people awwing in pity over Peter Okoye’s open letter.
Well, in all of this, I think Cynthia Morgan is being vindicated.
If Peter Okoye’s allegations against his brother Jude are anything to go by, baby girl must have had it worse.
She consistently said over the years that Jude took away everything she worked for.
As it stands, she’s like a wandering spirit, unable to lay claim to her own songs, including her stage name ‘Cynthia Morgan’.
Unfortunately, the public showed her no mercy.
Stan culture was in the favour of the Okoyes.
She was labelled bitter and a pys.ch0 for daring to speak her truth.
It didn’t help that her posts weren’t coherent.
And so, people enjoyed picking on the ‘cr@zy’ Cynthia Morgan.
Entertainment reporters like Joey Akan trashed her on Twitter and called her a flop during the social media onslaught.
Interestingly, Peter showed her compassion at the time, saying he’d experienced something similar with the label.
Although to many, it seemed like Peter was just taking sides with her then because of his feud with Paul and Jude.
If you recall, he wanted to sign Cynthia but she refused.
But I digress.
Here we are today.
People are finally condemning the alleged underhanded practices of Cynthia’s former boss – the same siphoning of royalties she cried about repeatedly.
So sorry Cynthia that it took Peter writing an open letter about his own sad experience for people to say “Wow! Nooo!” – now realising that there was more to the ongoing feud than sibling jealousy.
But the same greed and cruelty you’d always lamented that devoured your career and identity.
Really sorry Cynthia Morgan for the way the public scoffed at you.
