ChiefPriest and Burna Boy’s Fight

I felt so disappointed reading Burna Boy’s and Cubana Chiefpriest’s exchange online.

How can these brothers who happen to be so blessed belittle themselves and  be this petty online, exchanging banters like street thugs in the public?

CP even used the Diddy Oil line against Burna. This is the aspect that makes this whole toxic exchange interesting.

Recall that about a month ago, Burna got Akpi locked up for doing a similar thing against him online.

I am wondering if Burna is going to take legal steps against CP on this grounds too.

If he doesn’t, then he would have confirmed Adeyanju Deji claims that Burna was only oppressing Akpi because he is richer and more influential than him. Akpi is still in detention since then and his lawyer has openly claimed that Burna boy has instigated his continuous incasseration using his influence.

These wealthy entertainers are somewhat above the law in Nigeria. They smoke Marijuana and sing about it on live videos while being escorted by policemen yet Mariajuna is illegal in Nigeria. The other time, Bobrisky got jailed for spraying the naira but CP got a fine of N10m for the same offense. In 2022,  Burna got away after his security detail allegedly fired shots that hit an innocent man in a club in Lagos.

Justice is only for the rich in this part of the world. Only the rich has the license to openly show classlessness and misbehave in the public while the government do nothing and their poor fans hail them land glorify their bullish!t. To some sheepish fans, these celebs can do no wrongs in their eyes. This is why they display nonchalance in the public space without a recourse to how their mentees will see them. So this is their safe havens – they have got the most misguided following here, live above the laws and the government is nonchalant.

This is mostly why despite their long monies, most of them prefer to live in Nigeria than live abroad. It is mostly not about their love for the country, it is basically because they can’t get away with some of these bad behaviors outside the African shores. If you truly love something, you would strive to make it better, not add to its woes.

If only these people know the power of influence they wield and how this can rightly shape the path of this country and this continent for good if wisely used they won’t be online wasting time shading one another. If it is not Wizkid vs Davido, it is Burna vs Davido or Burna vs others. Imagine for a second what a combined positive influence of Burna, Davido and Wizkid and others in their leagues will do for  Nigeria and Africa.

Imagine an Africa Peace Concert hosted and organized by these guys in collaboration with others across the globe. imagine a concert where the theme is “It is time for Africa” sending a clear message to African leaders and world leaders, mostly the parasitic colonial masters who continue to remotely assert their influence on Africa and secretly suck their resources, to allow Africa grow for it has come of age to decide its own future.

In 1985, Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie co-wrote “We Are The World” and got many others to sing it and raise funds for African children. The influence of that song is still felt today, even years after MJ is gone.

Some of them do not talk during elections, they do not talk during right protests, they eat and dine with the political class and keep mute when government’s policies are inimical to the growth of their fans who give them billions of streams year in year out and instead of using their influence for good, they keep fanning toxic reputations and setting bad examples.

So, as a fan, instead of taking sides and trying to massage the egos of any of the patties, condemn their acts. All parties are wrong. They are parents and uncles. We have myriads of real issues to deal with. Fuel is still high, food prices have skyrocketed and inflation is at an all-time high. Let them set better examples and give to their fans the positivity their deserve in this new year.
