Burna Boy’s sister, Ronami, has shared insights into their mother’s significant contributions to his career.
In a recent interview, Ronami explained how their mother, who managed Burna Boy, helped him gain exposure by supplementing show fees.
She would often add her own money to the offered fee, telling Burna Boy a higher amount to encourage him to perform.
This strategic move helped him gain valuable experience and visibility.
Ronami also revealed that their mother financed Burna Boy’s first international tour, demonstrating her dedication to his success.
Here’s what Ronami said:
“When Burna Boy was coming up, they’ll call my mum (his manager) to book him for a show. And they’d say they’re paying 100k. My mum won’t tell Burna it’s 100k, because she knows Burna will never leave his house because of 100k. My mum will add her personal 100k to the money & tell Burna the show fee is 200k. She wanted him to have the exposure because she says it was important for his journey. My mum financed Burna’s first international tour. The first time she ever paid herself as Burna’s manager was in 2018”
