    #BBNaija: About Last Night’s Party

BBN : ABOUT LAST NIGHT’S PARTY

Entitlement, Paranoia, & Grandiose Delusions On Steroids

    📝 NOTE :

This is not just about Nengi, but everyone of the Top 5, except Dora, and to a lesser extent Laycon [ if not for follow-follow, and trying too hard to pacify wailers, Laycon probably wouldn’t have joined, because no one ignored him, and he vibed with everyone ].

The Top 5, led by Vee, have an unhealthy blend of paranoia and delusions of grandiosity— that’s the problem here, nothing else.

If not, if we want to be fair, the evicted housemates were excited to see them, hyped them, famzed them as if they were superstars, and brought mad energy to the party.

For this bunch of insensitive ingrates to start trash-talking them, barely seconds after they turned their backs, has to be the most insensitive thing ever; the lowest of all lows.

I mean, despite all the trash some of them have been talking about these evicted housemates over the last one week, and all the dragging they have faced outside as a result, they still swallowed their prides and showed up for them.

Not just did they show up, they literary set the party room ablaze, and welcomed them with a tumultuous excitement when they walked in.

I mean, you could literary palpate the positive energy.

But what was the response they got in return?

These people completely ignored them: instead of dancing with them across transparent partition, most of them went to do their own “Top 5” thing. Someone like Vee literary had her nose up in the air, feeling like some royalty looking down on her peasants; it wasn’t until towards the end that she went close to the glass partition to greet a FEW people.

Common sense, with a healthy dose of emotional intelligence, would have told these Top 5 that it may have felt awkward for the evicted housemates to come and celebrate them the way they did; that even if they were “ignoring” them, it was unlikely from a place of hatred and envy.

In that case, what do you do?

You cheer them up, draw them out of their shells, and try all you can to make them feel less awkward and at home with you. That was exactly what Dora did!

During my induction, my friend who had a resit didn’t come to celebrate with us as he should. We didn’t start trash-talking him for hating us, and not being happy for us; we understood exactly how he felt, how the whole celebration must have reopened a wound he was desperately trying to heal from, and how awkward it must have been for him. So what did we do? We sought him out in his room, took a bottle of wine to him, and still took him out later that night.

    Emotional intelligence!

Also, if you had unresolved beef with people, you don’t expect them to automatically squash said beef and come to bow at your feet, and lick your ass, just because “Top 5.” This goes for instances like the following:

    √ Vee-T’Baj

    √ Vee-Everyone else

    √ Prince-Nengi

    √ Etc

Then there was Nengi calling Kidd “dirty” on National TV, and still expecting him to vibe with her. The nerve!

And let’s state this categorically: Ozo did not ignore Nengi; he hailed her, and even hyped and “gassed” her up. The only thing is that Nengi expected Ozo to focus on her throughout the party, begging for crumbs, just like he used to, but he didn’t. [ BTW, something tells me she’s more pissed that Kidd completely ignored her, but is however pouring her frustration on Ozo alone— an easy target. We are not ready to have this conversation yet. When y’all are, let me know, so that we can analyze the situation well: from her saying that she doesn’t give a damn about Kidd, because he’s supposedly “dirty,” and still lamenting about him ignoring her; through her body language, when she was denying liking Kidd; through the fact that she started crying only after Vee’s cross examination concerning her feelings about Kidd; to the fact that Ozo didn’t actually ignore her!]

Finally, like I said earlier, the main issues generally were the following:

    1. The “Top 5” came to the party already prejudiced, with an unhealthy dose of paranoia. That’s why they were reading unnecessary meaning into nothing.
    2. They have weird delusions of grandeur: not just did they expect everyone to bow at their feet, most of them also acted it!
    3. Vee, and her sick “us vs them” mentality, gaslighted them, putting nonexistent funny ideas in their heads.

    That’s it!
