7 Things To Do If You Run Your Busines From Home

If you run your business from home, do these 7 things daily.

1. Have a set time you wake up and leave your bed. If it is 8 AM or 9 AM, stick to it. Wake up, brush or wash up, have a morning snack and go sit at your desk to plan business for the day.

If you wake up and decide to keep turning on your bed before you make your first post or update for the day, you may likely sleep off and wake up at 11 AM.

2. You’ll be ignored, undervalued, or straight up rejected, often by people you know. Your early content may flop and friends may not support you. Strangers will criticise you and friends may ask for items for free under the guise of support or paying later.

You need thick skin and the ability to learn from silence, not let it break you.

If you plan to make 10 sales in a day and made 5, that is progress. Thank the 5 for that day and see others wishing to reach out because they know you appreciate your customers.

3. You have no boss, no coworkers and maybe no structure. You are the system. You must become your own manager, motivator and disciplinarian. If you slack off, procrastinate or keep making excuses, there’s no safety net. Set deadlines, track results and stop sugarcoating your own lack of action.

Don’t get distracted because you are at home, especially if your sweetheart is there with you. They will touch your neck and you’re already rushing to the room to enjoy.

4. Learn to follow up on previous leads, especially if they said they will reach out at a certain time. Salaried people do this often because they may ask about the price of an item and say they’ll come back end of month after salary has been paid.

Send a soft reminder around the end of the month and ask if they are still interested in the product. Follow up on leads that have gone cold and you’ll be surprised how many people buy from you.

5. “Thank you for your interest in our products”. Always use this line or a similar line once someone reaches out to buy something from your online store. It is a way of appreciating them even before they buy.

Should the lead go cold and you need to follow up again, they will know you are courteous with your approach. Imagine if someone does this to me often, I will never stop buying kaikai from the person.

6. It’s easy to scroll social media and call it “research.” Stop! Create time to critically review the pages of those who are doing the same business as you but performing better. What are they doing differently? Is it their branding, writing, building or shipping?

You cannot build a business from your couch if you’re always watching what others are doing without learning.

7. No matter what you saw in your dream regarding the particular business that will bring you fortune, be open to learning, adapting and changing strategies.

Do not be stuck in your head and say this is how I have been doing it since 15 years ago. You will fade ooo!
